Plant Cultivation and the Maintenance of Machinery and Buildings

Almnäs is an organic farm, and our commitment to responsible farming goes far beyond avoiding the use of artificial fertilizers, chemical pesticides, or chemically grafted seeds. Respect for the landscape guides all our choices. We leave the roadsides and the edges of the fields untrimmed to create space for birds and animals to nest their young and we make sure to cultivate plants that encourage pollinators and increase biodiversity on the farm.

In addition to raising our animals, we grow an array of feed for them here on the farm: grass, silage, various grains, beans and other legumes; everything they need for a nutrient-rich diet.

We also grow rapeseed, which we sell to be pressed into cooking oil, and spelt, rye, and wheat that we use to create small batches of flour.
